Adele has confirmed that she has recorded the official theme for the 23rd Bond movie, ‘Skyfall.’

It had previously been rumored Adele would be both singing and writing the theme, however the singer has until now remained tight-lipped.

Posting a picture of the ‘Skyfall’ musical score to Twitter, the singer stated that recording the track was “one of the proudest moments of my life.”

According to the score, Adele has collaborated with her long-term producer and co-writer, Paul Epworth in composing the track.

In a statement, the singer discussed her initial uncertainty in recording the track: “I was a little hesitant at first to be involved in the theme song for ‘Skyfall’. There is a lot of instant spotlight and pressure when it comes to a Bond song.”

The British singer went on to add, “Paul had some great ideas for the track and it ended up being a bit of a no brainer to do it in the end.”

The track, which will be titled ‘Skyfall,’ was recorded at the infamous Abbey Road Studios in London and will feature a 77-piece orchestra.

Adele follows in the footsteps of Sir Paul McCartney, Dame Shirley Bassey and Sir Tom Jones, all of whom have previously lent their voices to the James Bond franchise.

The ‘Skyfall’ theme will premiere on the Adele’s official website on Friday October 5 at 0.07am BST (7.07pm EST October 4).
