Foo Fighters‘ front-man Dave Grohl has suggested the band’s recent concert in New York may be their last for a while

During though the band’s set at the Global Citizen Festival in Central Park, NY, Grohl told the crowd of 60,000 that ‘this is it.’

“Without making a big deal out of it, we don’t have any shows after this. This is it man… Honestly I don’t know when we’re gonna do it again, and this is the perfect place to do it.”

Grohl dropped the bomb on fans just four songs into the set, right before playing ‘Learn To Fly.’ However, right after closing the set Grohl gave fans a glimmer of hope, saying: “I don’t know when, but we’ll see you again.”

This isn’t the first time Grohl has made comments like this on stage. After England’s Reading Festival just 2 months ago, Grohl mentioned it would be their last performance “for a long time.” He later took to Twitter to clear up rumors the band had broken up, saying that he meant it was their last performance in the UK for a while.

After this latest announcement, perhaps we can expect the band to pop up at a bunch of festivals in Asia?

The Foo Fighters have been touring fervently for years now, so they deserve a well earned break. Grohl also has two daughters Violet, 6, and Harper, 3.

Speaking on juggling a family and touring, Grohl said: “Having had such a good relationship with my mom and dad, I always imagined I’d have a family myself one day – But I just couldn’t see it happening while I was playing in a band and going on tour, being a working, traveling musician.

“Then it dawned on me that you can do both and fortunately, we are able to. A lot of people struggle with it and we know how fortunate we are that we can have the luxury of touring less and having our families come out when we want or need them to.”

Having said that, hopefully Dave will consider a new Them Crooked Vultures or Probot album during this ‘break.’
