After a two-year stint of being handed out during a black-tie dinner ceremony, the Daytime Emmy Awards are returning to a live in-person show. The National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences announced today, revealing that “The Young and the Restless” leads all nominees with 25 nods.

The show will be broadcast live on CBS from the Pasadena Civic Auditorium. It’s a significant change from recent years when the awards were given out during a non-televised event in Las Vegas and last year when they weren’t handed out due to the pandemic.

This year, “The Young and the Restless” is up for 25 awards. The CBS sudser has dominated soap operas since its premiere, inundated into a leading role of most nominated shows with eight nominees total, including nods in all five acting categories.

It is a landmark moment for Daytime Emmy Awards, as it marks the first time an entire acting category will be made up of performers from one show. In this year’s Outstanding Lead Actor in Drama Series race, “The Young And The Restless has four nominations going head-to deserting them all.

Host Kevin Frazier is looking forward to introducing the stars during his opening monologue. He says that this year’s show has been one of their best yet because there are so many great moments from famous TV shows happening now, and he wants everyone watching them tonight to know what they can expect when they tune in later next week. In addition,” Entertainment Tonight” founder Tyra Banks makes an appearance too; she chats with ET’s Pat Kingsley about coming up short winners after last night.

I’m excited to see the Daytime Emmys return to a live show. I think it will be an excellent opportunity to see all the nominees in one place. I’m also excited to see Tyra Banks make a special appearance.

It is big news for daytime television fans. Returning the Daytime Emmy Awards to a live in-person show is sure to be a treat. And with “The Young and the Restless” leading the pack of nominees, it’s sure to be an exciting night. Be sure to tune in to CBS on June 26 for all the action.
