Maddy Brum, who appears in the reality television show, Cheer, was involved in an accident when she was hit by a car in Kansas City, Missouri, at 3:30 p.m. on Monday, June 20. The reality TV star was hit when another driver was making a U-turn at an intersection as she was crossing the street at 10th and Broadway. She was immediately taken to a local hospital and has suffered multiple injuries to her hip and leg.

The driver was determined to be at fault for the accident and was ticketed for failing to yield to a pedestrian and having the wrong license plates on their vehicle. The vehicle was traveling approximately 20 to 30 mph when it made contact with Brum, causing her to suffer multiple cuts and bruises on different areas of her body. She has already posted a photo to social media showing that she’s in good health and has only suffered minor injuries.

Brum plans to continue to compete and perform in cheer competitions in upcoming episodes of the reality show and isn’t allowing the accident to derail her plans. Recently, she’s been traveling to promote the reality show and make appearances at different locations.

Some of her “Cheer” friends have been by her side following the accident as she attempts to heal and recover. The reality star has thanked Javon “Jay” Kendrick, James Thomas, and Angel Rice for their support and care, according to tmz.com.

Although the accident was traumatizing, Brum has expressed that she’s feeling extremely thankful to be alive and have the ability to walk away from the scene without major injuries. Deidra Lizette currently plans to fill in for Brum as she recovers to ensure the team can continue to compete and perform well.

Monica Aldama, Brum’s coach, has been vocal on social media to show her support. The alum of Dancing with the Stars has stated that she’s thankful the accident wasn’t worse.

The next stop for the Cheer Live Tour is in Chicago, Illinois, and will come to an end of the summer.
