Sheryl Crow has been granted a temporary restraining order against a man who reportedly threatened to shoot the “Soak Up the Sun” singer.
A judge ordered that Phillip Gordon Sparks, 45, remain at least 100 yards away from Crow at all times and not attempt to contact her.
In a sworn statement the singer said that Sparks recently told an employee of a Los Angeles entertainment union that he was going to “just shoot” Crow. Sparks accused Crow of stealing money from him and breaking into his house.
Sparks also allegedly threatened to shoot film executive Harvey Weinstein, according to a declaration written by the entertainment union employee.
A hearing scheduled for August 14 in Santa Monica, CA will determine whether the temporary restraining order on Sparks will be extended to three years.
Crow is the mother of two boys, ages 5 and 2. She is currently on tour throughout the United States and Canada.
