After show creator Dan Harmon was fired from NBC’s small but critically acclaimed series Community after its third season, the show appears to keep things steadily moving forward enlisting legendary actor Malcolm McDowell as a history professor.
The casting comes in a long line of guest spots for the cult hit. Last season, The Wire and Boardwalk Empire actor Michael K. Williams had frequent appearances as Greendale Community College’s biology professor. Previously, John Oliver, Betty White and John Goodman have also appeared as recurring characters.
The announcement came several days after it was revealed that Little Britain actor Matt Lucas would also be joining the show for ‘a few episodes’. It appears that Lucas will have a similar role to McDowell, who is slated to appear in two episodes as Professor Cornwallis.
Production on the fourth season has already begun and new episodes will begin airing in a new Friday time slot on Friday, Oct. 19 at 8:30 pm EST.
