Alternative group Red Hot Chili Peppers gave a taste of their upcoming album, ‘I’m With You,’ with their new single “The Adventures of Rain Dance Maggie.” Fans of the group have been anxiously waiting for their newest album, which will be their first since five year old ‘Stadium Arcadium.’

The song stays true to RHCP’s unique lyrics and funky soulful singing by Anthony Kiedis. Along with its release the band also confirmed that rapper Kreayshawn would be directing the video for the single. Bassist Flea also continues to play with his signature combination of funk, psychedelic, and rock on the track. You can even pick out the sound of a cowbell, as well!

While the single may seem tame in comparison to past creations, the band has expressed excitement with the upcoming album, telling Rolling Stone, “There is no question – this is a beginning.”

The band is still adjusting to the departure of guitarist John Frusciante, who had become a vital source of new lyric and melody material. But replacement Josh Klinghoffer, who has been with the band since 2009, has been a great asset to the group and actually came up with the album title.

The Red Hot Chili Peppers have compared their newest album to having some similarities with classic Rolling Stones’ albums ‘Exile on Main Street’ and ‘Tattoo You,’ since they did pull inspiration from those albums during their creative process for this new album.
