2 Chainz has just released his first single of 2017.
As fans eagerly await the follow-up to his 2016 mixtapes Daniel Son: Necklace Don and Hibachi for Lunch, which featured more aggressive vocals than we would usually associate with the former ‘Tity Boi’, the rapper has come out of nowhere with his first release of 2017, and it’s dripping with smooth R&B.
Featuring singers Jhene Aiko and Trey Songz alongside fellow rapper Ty Dolla $ign, the track is far more melodic that we would usually expect from 2 Chainz. That’s all thanks to the services of 23-year-old producer Murda Beatz, who broke out the guitar and piano to create a layered beat that fits all of the different vocal styles on the track surprisingly well.
The track is expected to be the first release from 2 Chainz’s next project. Titled Pretty Girls Like Trap Music, the mixtape is expected to be released on April 7.

Update: 2 Chainz has taken to twitter claiming that “It’s a Vibe” wasn’t supposed to be released. Instead, it was leaked when the audio was pulled from a SoundCloud account that was accidentally made public.
