Adele has revealed that she uses a secret Twitter account as an outlet for her ‘less-than-brand-safe’ thoughts, and to keep tabs on people.

Fans of the 28-year-old singer would have noticed that, around two years ago, tweets on her official twitter account suddenly became a lot more PG. This shift came after her management ordered that two members of her team must “sign off” on any tweets before they go live.

This policy came after she almost landed in hot water for ‘drunk-tweeting’ dirty jokes to her 28 million Twitter followers. “I mean I’m not a drinker anymore, but when Twitter first came out I was, like, drunk tweeting,” she explained during her 2015 Adele at the BBC concert special. “I nearly put my foot in it quite a few times.”

Not one to take this oppression lying down, the singer has now revealed that management policy wasn’t enough to stop her getting her dirty jokes and drunk thoughts out to the Twitterverse.

According to an account from The Sun, Adele spoke to her fans mid-concert in Brisbane, Australia last night, and revealed: “I was looking on Twitter last night. They don’t know I have a secret account. Well obviously they do now because I said that. By ‘they’ I mean my management.”

“I’m not allowed access to my own Twitter because I’m quite mouthy and I say the wrong thing a lot of the time. So they took that privilege away from me.”

So, next time you see an odd tweet from a random Twitter account, it could literally be one of the most famous people on the planet.
