Tom Harper has signed on direct ‘The Woman in Black: The Angel of Death’ – the sequel to last year’s horror blockbuster, ‘The Woman in Black.’

Harper’s previous accolades include ‘This is England ’86’ and various episodes of UK TV show ‘Misfits.’

Set four decades after the original movie, ‘The Angel of Death’ will once again be set in the surroundings of Eel Marsh House and will feature the Woman in Black as the stories eerie protagonist.

The movies synopsis reads: “Seized by the government and converted into a military mental hospital during World War II, the sudden arrival of disturbed soldiers to Eel Marsh House has awoken its darkest inhabitant.

“Eve, a beautiful young nurse, is sent to the house to care for the patients, but soon realizes that she must save them from more than their own demons. Despite Eve’s efforts to stop her, one by one they fall victim to The Woman in Black.”

Based on the novel by Susan Hill, The Woman in Black staring Daniel Radcliff and directed by James Watkins, made $130 million worldwide making it the UK’s most successful horror film in 20 years.

Discussing the sequel, Harper said, “I am thrilled to be part of The Woman in Black: The Angel of Death. This will be a great opportunity for me to collaborate with a brilliantly talented team on the next installment in this exciting series.”

Production for ‘The Woman in Black: The Angel of Death’ is due to commence Spring 2013; however, there is no word yet on the movies cast.
