As the days draw to an early close and darkness falls fast, Paramount have tempted horror enthusiasts with the trailer for upcoming Halloween flick, ‘Paranormal Activity 3’.

The third instalment in the horror franchise serves as a prequel, taking place eighteen years prior to the events of the previous two films. When sisters, Katie (Katie Featherston) and Kristi (Sprague Grayden) begin to experience demonic activity, their father films the creepy occurrences. The entity torments the family, beginning its eventual destruction of the girl’s lives.

The trailer looks scarier than the previous two movies, providing enough jumps and plenty of suspense to satisfy eager fans. Unexplained noises, mysterious appearances and sudden possessions will force the audience into a state of uneasy suspense.

Henry Joost and Ariel Schulman, the duo behind 2010 documentary ‘Catfish’ will direct the movie. Oren Peli, who both wrote and directed the first film in the franchise, will produce the upcoming prequel.

The movie is due for release on October 21, however fans will have the opportunity to “Tweet to see it first” as Paramount plan to debut the movie on October 18th in the 20 cities that receive the most tweets.
