Director Robert Rodriguez announced today via Twitter that Lady Gaga will be playing the role of La Chameléon in Machete Kills.
Machete Kills is the sequel to Rodriguez’s 2010 action exploitation film Machete.
Rodriguez tweeted: “I just finished working with @LadyGaga on @MacheteKills, she kicked SO MUCH ASS! Holy Smokes. Blown away!”
The director also revealed a poster featuring a glamorous Lady Gaga draped in white wolf skin and holding a smoking pistol.

The singer confirmed her involvement in the project with a tweet of her own, saying: “Yes its true, I will be making my debut as an actress ln the amazing MACHETE KILLS BY @RODRIGUEZ IM SO EXCITED!!! AH! Filming was insane.”
Lady Gaga joins a star-studded cast that includes Modern Family’s Sophia Vergara, Jessica Alba, Amber Heard, Danny Trejo, Zoe Saldana and Mel Gibson.
Machete Kills is currently filming and a release date has not yet been announced.
