Traditionally, Disney’s take on ‘Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs’ depicts an innocent, dark-haired beauty who sings melodies as sweetly as the birds.

Now, that childhood fantasy is being brought to life again by Universal Studios as ‘Snow White & the Huntsman.’ The cast includes Kristen Stewart as a fully suited up Snow White, Charlize Theron along with a dagger as the Queen and Chris Hemsworth as the Huntsman.

With a darker name as well as a medieval costume, we can only guess which category this new tale might fall under.

Joe Roth, producer of ‘Snow White and the Huntsman’, described it as more of a dark action film. He went on to describe a competing version of the film ‘Snow White’, currently being produced by Relativity Media, as a much “softer” version of the original tale.

There was no footage to show during the panel held at Comic-Con this weekend, as production for the new movie won’t begin until next week.

Director Rupert Sanders painted the picture for a much tougher take on the traditional story, also including eight dwarves, not the original number of seven.

Photos of the cast in costume were shown and it is clear, that Kristen Stewart in her suit of armor will be up to more than singing enchanted love songs with the birdies at her fingertips.
