Casting for Catching Fire, the second film in Suzanne Collins’ Hunger Game trilogy, is underway with Lionsgate confirming Jena Malone as past victor and 75th game tribute, Johanna Mason.

Malone, who was most recently seen in The History Channel’s Emmy Winning series, Hatfields and McCoys, will play the psychologically troubled Quarter Quell tribute who unnerves Katnis Everdeen with her devious behavior.

Malone will join Oscar winning actor Phillip Seymour Hoffman as head gamemaker Plutarch Heavensbee and Pulp Fiction actress Amanda Plummer as district three tribute, Wiress.

Speaking at The Teen Choice Awards, Josh Hutcherson (Peeta Mellark) spoke kindly about his new cast mates, saying: “I’m super excited. I think Jena Malone is fantastic. Amanda Plummer is fantastic. I think also Phillip Seymour is one of my favorite actors ever.”

Francis Lawrence (I am Legend) is confirmed to direct the movie.

The Hunger Games: Catching Fire is due for release November 22, 2013.

May the long, anticipated wait commence.
