Despite being just shy of 100 years old, people were still shocked at her passing. Steady Presence on Television

Entering the entertainment industry in the 1940’s, she became part of the nationally syndicated program titled Life With Elizabeth. Betty White came to major prominence in the 1970’s as part of the cast of the iconic Mary Tyler Moore Show. She then moved on to the popular sitcom Golden Girls in the 1980s.

Resurgence Of An Amazing Career

Betty White made an amazing comeback in 2010. She was part of the Super Bowl when she starred in a Snickers commercial. This performance was widely accepted by the fans and led to a number of other high-profile performances that caused a resurgence of her career at the age of 87.

This all led to another role on sitcom television in Hot in Cleveland. This role also rewarded her with an Emmy nomination. Throughout her career, she had 17 Emmy nominations and actually won seven of them. Despite all of these accolades in the entertainment industry, her true passion has always focused on the welfare of animals.

Personal And Behind The Scenes Life

Born on January 17, 1922, Betty White moved to Los Angeles as a young child during the time of the Great Depression. The bug for acting was engaged during high school when she got involved in the senior play by not only writing it but also acting as the lead in it. Prior to pursuing a career in acting, she went through two short-term marriages. She eventually met the love of her life in 1961 when she was a regular celebrity contestant on Password, a popular television game show. The host of the show, Allen Ludden, proposed to Betty in 1963. They shared 18 years together before he died in 1981 of stomach cancer. Betty never had her own children, however, she completely embraced her stepchildren as her own.

Betty White has remained such a staple on television and film over the years. She exudes positivity and humor. She credits these traits with the key to a long and happy life. She has made a habit of trying to make the most out of every experience. She always realized her mortality and truly made strides to embrace everything in life that was important to her.
