Actor Kiowa Gordon, who plays the character Embry Call in the ‘Twilight Saga’, was arrested on Monday morning. Though the local media reported Gordon was busted for a DUI, the star was actually arrested for an active warrant. Last year he was arrested for drug paraphernalia possession and providing a minor with alcohol.

Officials told TMZ Gordon was riding in a vehicle pulled over for a “routine registration check” when they discovered his outstanding warrant. They booked him into Maricopa County Jail on a $1,000 bond, adding an extra $500 for other charges.

Kiowa Gordon’s claim to fame is his role as Embry, Jacob Black’s werewolf friend, in the ‘Twilight’ movie series. In fact, back in July 2010 Gordon told Deseret News, “I owe my entire career, at least to this point, to ‘Twilight.'”

Not in keeping with his recent arrest, the now 21-year-old landed the role because he was a member of Stephenie Meyer’s, the author of the ‘Twilight’ books, Latter-day Saints Church ward. She told him they were casting and, eager to play a Native American, he took advantage of the opportunity.

Gordon’s fate will be decided August 18, when he is set to appear in Mesa City Court.

The next installment of the ‘Twilight Saga,’ ‘Breaking Dawn (Part 1)’ will hit theaters November 18, 2011.
