The family of the late Amy Winehouse have revealed today in a public statement that toxicology results show there were no illegal drugs in the singers system at the time of her death.
The Brit award-winning artist was found dead at her North London home last month. Her father Mitch Winehouse has since said his daughter successfully overcame her drug addition prior to her death. Speaking at his daughters funeral, Mitch claimed “three years ago Amy conquered her drug dependency, the doctors said it was impossible but she really did it.”
Alcohol was found in the ‘Rehab’ singers system, however it is not yet known whether this was directly linked to her death.
In the statement, the grieving family expressed their gratitude– “The family would like to thank the police and coroner for their continuing investigations and for keeping them informed throughout the process.”
The family awaits an inquest into Amy’s death, which is scheduled for October 26.
