Nick Jonas has announced that he will take on the lead role in Broadway show ‘How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying’ after Daniel Radcliffe departs the show on January 1, 2012.

Jonas has agreed to a six-month stint as J. Pierrepont Finch in the Tony Award and Pulitzer Prize-winning musical comedy. With the aid of self-help book ‘How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying’, Pierrepont tries -and often fails- to balance pleasure with his swift climb of the corporate ladder.

Nick Jonas, who first found success alongside his brothers in pop-group ‘The Jonas Brothers’ was unveiled for the role at infamous New York Broadway hangout Sardi’s.

“This is going to be an exciting journey… I always said my return to Broadway would have to feel right — the right role at the right time, and this felt right,” the 19-year-old pop star said at the unveiling.

Jonas has a long history in musical theatre – Starting with an appearance as Tiny Tim in ‘A Christmas Carol’ at Madison Square Garden 11 years ago, the singer and musician has gone on to star in a number of prominent theatre productions, including ‘Beauty and the Beast,’ ‘Les Miserables,’ and ‘Annie get your gun.’ Jonas most recently appeared in a production of ‘Hairspray’ at the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles.

Before the ‘Burinin Up’ singer hits the stage, however, ‘Glee’ star Darren Criss will make his Broadway debut in the role for the three weeks between Radcliffe leaving and Jonas arriving.

Nick Jonas will star in ‘How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying’ from January 24 through to July 1, 2012 at the Al Hirschfeld Theatre in New York.
