Just when you thought you couldn’t hear any more troubling news about Kanye West, things have gone even further downhill for the rapper-turned-businessman.

On Wednesday, Kanye – who legally changed his name to Ye in 2021 – arrived to a building owned by Skechers. His visit was unannounced and unscheduled. Upon arrival, Ye was not welcomed by the shoe company. While it is said that a short conversation did occur between individuals at Skechers when West arrived, it is not known what was actually said. In fact, it can be assumed that the conversation took a wrong turn, as Skechers has accused him of unauthorized filming. The parties were not able to settle their differences by simply asking West to leave. It is obvious that Mr. West was not welcome. West was escorted off the Skechers premises by their security team.

Skechers has not remained silent on this matter. A Skechers spokesperson has addressed the incident, making it clear that they will not work with Kanye West now or in the future. Indeed, Skechers is distancing themselves from Ye. A Skechers representative also stated that West’s recent anti-Semitic remarks were divisive, calling these remarks “hate speech.”

Skechers isn’t the only company distancing themselves from West. Adidas, Foot Locker, Gap, TJ Maxx, and Nike have all ended their business partnerships with West. Additionally, CAA, his longtime talent agency, is said to no longer being representing him.

What’s spawned the sudden chilliness towards Ye? A series of Anti-semitic comments have sparked outrage towards the rapper, including Kanye tweeting: ““I’m going death con 3 On JEWISH PEOPLE.” The rapper has yet to apologize for his remarks.

Ye has also ignited controversy for showing “White Lives Matter” shirt at a fashion show in Paris. Fashion label Balenciaga has ended their dealings with West.
