UK Rapper Dappy has claimed that he always knew he would be famous, even while he was still at school.

The 24-year-old rapper, real name Costadinos Contostavlos, is best known for the time he spent in UK urban music group N-Dubz. In an interview, Dappy explained that he always had his eye on the stars, going as far as paying someone to ask for his autograph to impress a girl.

“My long-term girlfriend from Greece came over to England and I paid someone a fiver to ask me for my autograph,” Dappy explained to Now. “She was like: ‘Wow!’
I felt so good! Ha ha,
I can’t believe I did that.”

The rapper’s first solo single ‘No Regrets’, hit the No.1 spot in the UK charts last week, days after announcing that he will go on a solo UK tour.

Dappy will play 10 concerts across the England ahead of the release of his first solo album, titled ‘No Regrets’, which will be released in early 2012.

Last week, Dappy revealed that he ‘feels lonely’ when he performs without his N-Dubz band-mates Tulisa, who is currently a judge on the UK version of X-Factor, and Fazer.
