After cutting their July 29 tour date in Dallas short, citing heat exhaustion, the Kings of Leon announced Monday that they will be canceling the remainder of their tour in the United States.

In a statement the band said, “We are so sorry to say Kings of Leon are canceling their entire US tour due to Caleb Followill suffering from vocal issues and exhaustion.”

The rest of the band are said to be devastated, particularly bassist Jared Followill who posted a video to his twitter depicting him hitting a punching bag moments after he found out the entire tour will be cancelled.

“The band is devastated, but in order to give their fans the shows they deserve, they need to take this break. Unfortunately, the US dates cannot be rescheduled due to the band’s international tour schedule,” the statement continued.

The cancellation comes amid continuing rumors that the band are suffering from more than just exhaustion, with Jared Followill revealing the band’s internal problems on twitter before joking that he got a text from Kings of Leon drummer Nathan Followill telling him they are breaking up.

While the band has been sober for years, they still enjoy a drink from time to time. However, sources close to the band claim that frontman Caleb “drinks like a fish,” and is being encouraged to enter rehab.

Ticket holders should look out for an e-mail later this week regarding refund information. The Canadian leg of the tour will continue, starting in Vancouver on September 28.
