As Southern natives, the Kings of Leon should be accustomed to the summer heat waves brought on by Mother Nature. But despite their tough image the extreme temperatures in Dallas brought their concert to an abrupt close Friday night, as well as postponed a show for Saturday in Houston.

Lead singer Caleb Followill told the Dallas audience, “I’m about to fall down here because I’m so goddamn hot.” Followill cut the show short, complaining that the heat was affecting his voice. The band will be heading back to Dallas later in their tour to make up the show.

With temperatures in the 90s during the outdoor concert held at Gexa Energy Pavillion, in Dallas, Texas, the heat must have been getting to everyone, including the band.

But Jared Followill, bassist and younger brother to Caleb, tweeted that there were ulterior motives for the shows abrupt end, hinting that it wasn’t just the heat that broke them down. One message said, “I love our fans so much. I know you guys aren’t stupid. I can’t lie. There are problems in our band bigger than not drinking enough Gatorade.”

Soon after Kings of Leon left mid-show, outraged fans were tweeting their guesses relating to inter-group problems.

Band reps for Kings of Leon have announced that tickets from the canceled shows will be honored and full refunds will be issued for those who cannot attend the new dates scheduled for Dallas on September 21 and Houston September 22.
