The third time is the charm, so they say. That’s what Baywatch actor David Hasselhoff hopes as he settles in with his new wife, model Hayley Roberts. According to E! News, the couple met in 2011 when Hasselhoff was a judge on “Britain’s Got Challenge.” Roberts was working at a department store at the time. She asked to take a photo with Hasselhoff in the hotel lobby, and he obliged as long as she agreed to give him her phone number.

The rest is history. The pair got engaged in 2016 during what Hasselhoff referred to as the best week ever. In a 2016 Hello Magazine report, Hasselhoff is quoted as saying that he waited so long to propose because of the age difference. Hasselhoff worried that he was too old for Roberts.

It turns out that he didn’t have anything to worry about. Hasselhoff, 66, and Roberts, 38, wed in an intimate ceremony in Puglia, Italy. They were surrounded by close friends and family members, including Hasselhoff’s two daughters, Hayley, 25, and Taylor, 28. They have planned to spend their honeymoon in the Maldives.

Hasselhoff was married to Catherine Hickland from 1984 to 1989. He then wed actress Pamela Bach, who he had met on the set of “Knight Rider” in 1985. He remained married to her for 17 years. Hasselhoff’s two daughters are from that marriage.

According to People, Roberts has developed a close connection with Hasselhoff’s daughters. In fact, they are the ones who convinced their father to carry out the proposal in 2016. Although it can be difficult to see your parents get divorced, Hasselhoff’s daughters are glad that he has found happiness with Roberts.

The Hoff didn’t even have to buy himself a new ring. He told ET that he has been wearing his father’s wedding ring for years as a good luck charm. It looks like it has worked.
