British actor and Britain’s most eligible bachelor, Hugh Grant has become a father for the first time at the age of fifty-one.
Actress Tinglan Hong gave birth to a baby girl on September 26 at London’s Portland Hospital. Grant and Hong had a brief relationship earlier this year, however split soon after the 32-year-old actress became pregnant.
Hugh’s publicist confirmed the happy news stating; “I can confirm that Hugh Grant is the delighted father of a baby girl.”
“He and the mother had a fleeting affair and while this was not planned, Hugh could not be happier or more supportive. He and the mother have discussed everything and are on very friendly terms.”
Upon turning 50, the ‘About A Boy’ actor spoke of his desire to have eventually children, “I think it would be a good idea. I wish I had them already. I think it’s part of life and I definitely should have it. I don’t want to be 70 and alone. I want children to look after me.”
A year on it seems Grant has got his wish. All that awaits is a picture of the dotting father and his new bundle of joy!
