One of Oscar season’s easily most-anticipated releases, The Master, is moving its release date. The Paul Thomas Anderson film, starring Joaqin Phoenix and Philip Seymour Hoffman as the apparent L. Ron Hubbard-like cult leader, has been gaining rousing attention since its full trailer release, which you can watch below.

The full trailer shows Hoffman’s character in the mold of the aforementioned Hubbard; the man who founded what is now known as Scientology. Phoenix, along with Amy Adams, plays one of his new recruits in the movement.

The official release date has been moved to September 14th, nearly a month before the originally scheduled October 12th release. However, with the switch, The Weinstein Company moved Brad Pitt and James Gandolfini’s Killing Them Softly one month back to Oct. 19th.
