‘True Blood’ actor Joe Manganiello is coming back to ‘How I Met Your Mother’.
Manganiello is due to return to his role as Marshall’s (Jason Segel) law school friend in the eighth season of the CBS sitcom.
Manganiello appeared on ‘How I Met Your Mother’ before landing roles as a werewolf in True Blood and a male stripper in the film Magic Mike. He’s not the only actor coming back for the sitcom’s eighth season. Michael Trucco (Robin’s Secret Crush in ‘Hopeless’) and Ashley Williams (Victoria) are also due to return to ‘How I Met Your Mother’ this fall.
“There’s going to be a few more [returns] from deeper into the past as we near the end of the series,” co-creator Craig Thomas told TV Line. “Just funny people we always wanted to write for more and play with more.”
‘How I Met Your Mother’ won a People’s Choice Award’s in 2012 for Best TV Network Comedy; while actor Neil Patrick Harris took home the award for Best Male Comedy Actor.
Season eight of ‘How I Met Your Mother’ begins September 24, 2012.
