With Jimmy Kimmel Live! moving to the coveted 11:35 p.m. time slot next year, host Jimmy Kimmel is aware of his new competition.

After the very public debacle that between Jay Leno and former Tonight Show host Conan O’Brien, Kimmel became one of the more vocal supporters of O’Brien, going so far as to imitate Leno on his show by wearing a wig and a prosthetic chin.

In response, Leno famously invited Kimmel on The Jay Leno Show, prior to Leno moving back to The Tonight Show. During the interview, Kimmel continually chastised Leno on his own program. He recanted the incident during an interview Monday at New York’s 92nd Street Y with host Bill Carter, calling it “probably my proudest moment.”

When asked specifically about Leno, Kimmel proclaimed: “F**k him.”

The questions came after The Tonight Show’s recent firing of two dozen employees and staff-wide pay cuts to compensate for a shrinking budget at the NBC program.

Kimmel also noted that the two have not spoken since the famous interview, but he’s a big fan of David Letterman.
