Only a day after rumors of American Idol courting Kanye West to fill the final vacant judge spot, another rumor has sprouted out.

Singer-songwriter Alanis Morissette is now rumored to be in the running for the final position, according to CNN.

“I live to mentor,” she said. “So my heart is much more open to the idea that than even 10 years ago when I, perhaps, wasn’t in a position to be able to offer much advice, solicited or otherwise.”

If selected, Morissette would be joining long-running judge Randy Jackson – who’s been with the show since its inception – and new judge Mariah Carey, who was confirmed several weeks ago. It also appears that Nicki Minaj is almost guaranteed a spot on the show according to insider sources.

With Carey, Minaj, and possibly Morissette, Jackson could possibly be move to a production role on the show, potentially opening up a spot for the aforementioned Kanye West or one of the many celebrities rumored to be in the running for the final spot, including Nick Jonas.
