Nicola Peltz, best known for her role in ‘The Last Airbender’ has been cast in the A&E drama ‘Bates Motel.’

The 17-year-old actress will play a love interest for the young Norman Bates (Freddie Highmore) in the upcoming prequel series, THR reports.

‘Bates Motel’ explores the youth and formative years of Norman Bates and is based on the characters from the classic Alfred Hitchcock thriller, ‘Psycho.’

Peltz will play Bradley Kenner and she’s described as “bright and effortlessly sexy with a depth that makes her seem older than she really is.”

Vera Farmiga will play Norman’s mother, Norma Bates, with whom he has a very twisted relationship.

Rounding out the cast are Olivia Cooke, who plays Norman’s classmate, and Max Theriot as Norman’s rebellious older brother Dylan.

From ‘Lost’s’ Carlton Cuse and ‘Friday Night Lights” Kerry Ehrin, ‘Bates Motel’ explores the inner workings of young Bates’ psyche. It will give viewers access to the twisted experiences that turned Bates into one of cinema’s most famous serial killers.

‘Bates Motel’ is produced by Universal Television for A&E Network and will premiere next year.
