Jessie J looks set to top this years MOBO awards after receiving five nominations.

The British pop-act has received nominations for best song (‘Do It Like a Dude’), best album, best newcomer, best video (‘Do It Like a Dude’), and best UK act.

Referring to her triumph Jessie J, real name Jessica Cornish, said; “I am so honored to be nominated. I have watched so many of the artists I look up to being nominated, winning awards and performing – its amazing to be in the company of such amazing talent.”

The 23-year-old is also scheduled to preformed live at the Glasgow based ceremony alongside Katy B.

Fellow Brits Adele, Tinie Tempah, and Wretch 32 have also proved popular, each receiving a respectable four nominations including the highly coveted best UK act.

Adele is also in the running for best Song (‘Someone Like You’), best Album (’21’), and best UK R&B/Soul act, while Tinie Tempah is nominated for best UK hip-hop/grime act, best album (‘Disc-overy’) and best song (‘Wonderman’).

Wretch 32 who is also up for best newcomer, best UK hip hop/grime act, and best song said: “I grew up watching the MOBO awards, so to be nominated for even just one award feels overwhelming. I was going to attend the awards anyway but now I’ll be at a table.”

International acts recognized at the prestigious awards ceremony include Beyoncè, Bruno Mars and Rihanna.
