Returning with the band’s first album since 2008’s Day & Age, The Killers have released the first video from their increasingly anticipated fourth album Battle Born. The video for “Runaways” features lead-singer Brandon Flowers decked in his usual leather jacket, with the band draped in red neon lights on a smoky soundstage. Flowers sings in front of a cascading scene of the band’s native city – Las Vegas –  with continual desert imagery.

The sound is a bit of a departure from the band’s previous album, harking back to the stadium anthems of the group’s first two outputs; 2004’s debut Hot Fuss and their 2006 follow-up Sam’s Town. “Runaways” seems to relive the oft-mentioned comparison’s between the group and 80’s-era Bruce Springsteen, which is sure the be a mainstay for the band’s live performances in the future.

Battle Born is set for release September 18th, via Island and Vertigo Records.
