In a move that has surprised many, musician Prince, has announced that he will not create another album until the issue of music piracy is resolved.

With many frustrations towards the online music industry, Prince has had enough of it.

He told The Guardian, “I personally can’t stand digital music. You’re getting sound in bits. It affects a different place in your brain. When you play it back, you can’t feel anything. We’re analogue people, not digital.”

Ironically, Prince was the first artist ever to release an entire album online in 1997. He also gave away his his album ’20Ten’ for free as a cover mount on the UK’s Daily Mirror newspaper.

Since he is not profiting as much as he has in the past and with his loyalty towards analogue, Prince is done with recording.

He continued saying, “The industry changed. We made money (online) before piracy was real crazy. Nobody’s making money now except phone companies, Apple and Google.”

Who knows how much longer Prince can go on tour with the same old material and continue to keep crowds interested…maybe he’ll return to recording once people get sick of his “greatest hits.”
