Yes – It’s that time again! Whether you’re away from the TV, or you just want to hear it from us, Running Lip is bringing you all of the winners at the 2012 MTV Video Music Awards as they are announced.
Taking Place RIGHT NOW at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, the biggest musical acts of the moment are lined up hoping to get their hands on the coveted astronaut-shaped Video Music Award. An image of an astronaut on the moon is one of the earliest representations of MTV, reflecting the long history of the award ceremony, which started in 1984.
Hosted by Kevin Hart, 17 awards will be presented during the ceremony, alongside a whole host of live musical performances by the likes of Rihanna, Green Day, One Direction, and Frank Ocean. Pink, Lil Wayne, and Alicia Keys will also be debuting new singles tonight while Taylor Swift will perform her new hit single “We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together” live for the first time – Her first VMA appearance since the infamous 2009 “Imma let you finish” incident with Kanye West.
