British folk rock band Mumford and Sons kicked off their U.S. tour by debuting five new songs from their upcoming album ‘Babel’.

The band kicked off their New Jersey concert with the song “Lover’s Eyes” from their upcoming album. Other news songs debuted included “Lover of the Light” and “I Will Wait.” Perhaps front man Marcus Mumford has love on his mind because of his recent marriage to actress Carey Mulligan. The pair tied the knot last April.

Speaking about the new album, Mumford and Sons bassist Ted Dwane told Rolling Stone, “You might hear a little bit more of a slight flavor of darkness on a couple songs.”  He added, “I don’t think we were looking to be too crazy and experimental.”

The band is back on tour after canceling shows on the UK festival circuit because Mumford broke his hand in June.

Mumford and Sons’ first album ‘Sigh No More’ won Best British Album at last year’s BRIT Awards. ‘Sigh No More’ sold over 2.2 million copies in the USA, led by the hit single “Little Lion Man.”

‘Babel’ is due for release September 25 on Glassnote Records.
