If no publicity is bad publicity, rapper Kanye West’s career should be well established. West was at it again, this time comparing himself to Fuhrer Adolf Hitler.

While performing at the Big Chill music festival, the rapper went on about how hard it is being misunderstood. He interrupted the song “Monster” to explain how all the photos of himself yelling were really just his attempts to create a better performance. Notoriously he added, “People look at me like I’m f***ing insane, like I’m Hitler.”

Hitler wasn’t the only one West compared himself to. Later on in his speech he associated himself with basketball legend Michael Jordan. The rapper spoke of how Jordan “took his power to make a difference,” and with all the “bulls**t” going on in the music industry, he feels he has to make that difference.

The rant ran just shy of seven minutes, and it was evident the crowd got tired of hearing it. Enthusiastic cheers turned to boos. Several audience members even yelled for him to “Shut the f**k up!”

Previous infamous incidents include when West ruined Taylor Swift’s moment in the spotlight back in 2009. Swift won Female Video of the Year, but in the middle of her acceptance speech Kanye jumped on stage to praise Beyoncé’s video.

Perhaps Kanye should stick to his lyrics.
