Lil Wayne is to follow in Eminem’s footsteps as he drops an open letter to Anne, who Wayne has described in interviews as his “biggest fan.”
Produced by Swizz Beatz the song, called “Dear Anne (Stan Part 2)”, features samples from the Russian pop duo t.A.T.u’s song “30 Minutes”.
The song provides a marked counterpoint to Eminem’s hit track “Stan”, where the rapper apologizes for not having time to respond to “Stan”, who commits suicide as a result.
Instead, Weezy takes the time to recite a three-page letter to Anne reflecting on his past, the stresses of life, and his appreciation of the support of fans – Particularly Anne, who he hopes will know that he wrote the song to say “I’m your number one fan, Anne.”
The song has received a largely positive response from fans, however despite rumors, the song will not make it into Wayne’s upcoming album ‘Tha Carter IV’, due for release on August 29th, 2011.
