Midwest Katy Perry fans have been left disappointed after the singer cancelled two tour dates in Chicago and Minneapolis/St. Paul on her California Dreams tour.

A rep for the star claimed Katy was suffering from “an attack of food poisoning leading to severe dehydration,” making it clear the cancellations were unavoidable.

Aware of the ever-growing support garnered from her fans the “I Kissed a Girl” singer expressed regret on her official website; “I apologize to my fans in Chicago and the Twin Cities for not being able to perform this weekend, but I am going to return in a few weeks to give them the very best show ever!”

Thankfully dedicated fans can breath a sigh of relief as the dates have already been rescheduled to August 21 and 23. All tickets are transferable, and full refunds will be offered for those unable to attend.

Unfortunately for the singer, she was unable to exploit sympathy from husband, Russell Brand, as he is at the moment in the middle of filming 80s rock musical, ‘Rock of Ages’ in Miami.

Perry’s most recent album, ‘Teenage Dreams’ has achieved massive success debuting at number one on the Billboard 200 while ‘E.T’ is so far the biggest selling song in America this year.
