The 2015 Alternative Press Music Awards were held last night at the Quicken Loans Arena in Cleveland, Ohio.
Metalcore band, Issues, who released their self-titled debut album last year, won the coveted Artist of The Year Award. Black Veil Brides took home the album of the year with their self-titled release from 2014, while British rock band The 1975, who exploded into international fame with their song “Chocolate,” took home the award for the Best International Band.
Along with the awards, there were a myriad of star studded and ground-shaking performances; including Corey Taylor of Slipknot joining forces with Halestorm for their rendition of “Hunger Strike” by Temple of the Dog, and Rob Zombie teaming up with Motionless in White to perform “Thunder Kiss ’65” by White Zombie.
However, the hardest hitting moment of the night occurred when Sum 41 returned, joined by a legend of hip-hop in the form of DMC, and their old guitarist Dave Brownsound, collaborating to create an iconic sound that will go down in AP history.
