Madonna seems to have been ready for a change of pace and, according to her recent social media posts, a change of location is just what the doctor ordered. Although the move didn’t go quite as smoothly as she might have hoped, Madonna now shares pictures of her new home in Lisbon, Portugal, expressing a brighter, more hopeful outlook for the future.
Madonna Leaves New York for Portugal and She Couldn’t be Happier
The news that Madonna has left the United States was first shared with the Rebel Heart artist’s Instagram fans. The singer shared the first images of her new home on the website, revealing that she is now living in Portugal, where she says she feels more inspired and feels her creative juices flowing in new directions.
Sharing a drawing of a giant straddling the ocean atop two stone pedestals, Madonna captioned the artwork with her feelings about her hopes for her new home. The pop star said she thinks she will be able to reconquer the world from her new vantage point, adding that the energy she feels has uplifted her spirit.
“I feel very creative and alive here and I look forward to working on my film LOVED and making New Music!!! This will be the next Chapter in My Book,” Madonna added to the caption.
The Move Has Made Madonna a Basket Case
In another picture, Madonna showed fans what her new kitchen looks like, complete with a variety of woven straw baskets dangling from the ceiling. Sharing her sense of humor, Madonna comments that the move has helped calm her mental state.
“I used to be a basket case but now I Live in Lisbon!” the Rebel Heart artist captioned the image.
That caption may allude to the difficult time that the entertainer has had in getting packages released from customs, as a part of the mood. She shared an additional picture that’s a selfie of the singer looking less than amused. The caption explains it all. Madonna comments that she has been arguing with customs officials for a week, because they refused to believe she really is Madonna.
The Rebel Heart artist adds that, even after a week of dealing with the officials, she still has yet to have her package released. Fans may be hoping the package has nothing to do with the promised new music. After the ill-received Rebel Heart album, Madonna’s fans are eager for something more in line with her past hits.
