Fans hoping to hear new material from soulful songstress Adele will have a wait on their hands.

The ‘Rolling In The Deep’ singer has revealed she does not plan to release another album for up to three years as she looks to recover from her recent throat surgery, and take her time with any new projects.

Speaking to Billboard, 23-year-old Adele said: “I’m really looking forward to some time to do nothing. I imagine I’ll be 25 or 26 by the time my next record comes out, as I haven’t even thought about my third record yet.

“I’m just gonna lay some concrete, set up home and just ‘be’ for a bit. I’ll disappear and come back with a record when it’s good enough. There will be no new music until it’s good enough and until I’m ready.”

Fans have already joked that Adele is just waiting for another boyfriend to ‘screw her over’, a recurring event that inspired much of the material on her past albums, ’19’ and ’21’.

Adele recently underwent surgery to remove growths which were damaging her vocal chords. When asked about the surgery, the 23-year old said it “couldn’t have gone better”.

Adele’s second studio album ’21’ has enjoyed whirlwind success across the globe, selling 13 Million copies worldwide and become the 10th best-selling album of all-time in the UK, less than a year after the album’s release in January this year.
