Sylvester Stallone has slammed fellow action star Bruce Willis, calling him “Greedy and Lazy.”

The verbal bashing came immediately after Stallone announced that Bruce Willis is no longer associated with the The Expendables franchise, and that Harrison Ford (‘Star Wars,’ ‘Indiana Jones’) will be replacing the ‘Die Hard’ star in the next installment of the series, ‘The Expendables 3.’

Stallone had been trying for years to get Ford in on ‘The Expendables,’ but it never worked out until now.

Sources close to the film say Willis was unhappy with his pay for the movie, and demanded an extra $1 Million on top of the $3 Million he was already due to earn for four days of work shooting his minor role in the movie. “He said he’d drop out unless he got $4 million… A million dollars a day…. Stallone and everybody else involved said no,” a source told The Hollywood Reporter.

The source went on to say: “I think Willis was surprised that he was replaced in 72 hours by Harrison Ford – a better actor, a much nicer person and a more interesting direction for the film.”

It has been rumored that Willis was less than satisfied with his role in the Expendables movies, so it appears he threw out an ‘offer he couldn’t refuse’ to take on the role and found that it’s not just the title of the movie that is expendable. It has also been reported that Willis turned down opportunities for his character, Mr. Church, take on a more substantial role in the movie. This was also said to play a part in his demands for more money.

Jason Statham, Kellan LutzArnold Schwarzenegger, and Victor Ortiz are firmly committed to ‘The Expendables 3,’ with rumors that Jackie ChanMilla JovovichNicolas Cage, and Wesley Snipes will also make an appearance.

The first expedition by the Expendables was released in August 2010 and grossed $275 Million. The second installation passed the $300 Million mark quickly after its release in August 2012.

‘The Expendables 3’ is expected to hit theaters on August 15, 2014.
