It will be a bittersweet moment for Potter fans as the ‘Harry Potter’ series finally reaches its climax. While Harry, Ron and Hermione continue their search for Voldemort’s Horcruxes, Voldemort’s sinister presence (fantastically portrayed in the most recent trailer) continues to threaten the wizarding world. Time for the final standoff between the “Boy-Who-Lived” and “He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named!”

The latest trailer promises a lot, all of which I’m sure it will deliver. However, one questionable shot shows Harry and Voldemort tumbling from a Hogwarts tower. Unable to place this scene, many fans may be concerned J.K. Rowling’s poignant narrative has been compromised in favour of cinematic effects. However, screenwriter Stephen Kloves ensures more than a cinematic battle sequence, “We wanted to tie character and emotion to everything that happened. So it wasn’t just, ‘Oh wow, look at that blow up!’” Thus, Kloves captures the battle from the perspective of the characters that we have grown to know and love.

As Hogwarts is eclipsed in fire and Harry is heard saying, “I didn’t want any of you to die for me,” it seems David Yates et al have captured the perfect balance between emotion and sheer epic scale.

‘Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Part Two’ will be released July 15 2011.
