Joining the likes of Philip Seymour Hoffman, Jena Malone, Amanda Plummer, Stephanie Leigh Schlund, and Lynn Cohen, English actor Sam Clafin is the most recent addition to Catching Fire, the much-anticipated sequel to the film adaptation of The Hunger Games.
The name may not be terribly familiar to most now, but Clafin – who is set to play character Finnick Odair, a participant of the Hunger Games – is set to play what may be the biggest role of his young career. Previously, Clafin had attained small roles in Snow White and The Huntsman and Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides.
In the sequel, the Hunger Games celebrates its 75th anniversary, where returning champions are set to compete again – including Finnick and Katniss, the protagonist of the series played by Jennifer Lawrence.
Other stars returning for the sequel are Josh Hutcherson, Liam Hemsworth, Elizabeth Banks and Woody Harrelson, as well as Lawrence.
Catching Fire is slated for release November 22nd, 2013.
