Continuing in their trend of constant teasers for upcoming films, Warner Brothers have released a new promotional poster for upcoming film release, ‘The Dark Knight Rises’.

The poster depicts an ominous scene where the movie’s villain, Bane (played by Tom Hardy), is seen walking away from Batman’s broken mask under the text “The Legend Ends”, suggesting that The Bats may not have it so easy in this installment of the franchise.

The movie is predicted to loosely follow the ‘Knightfall’ story arc of the Batman comics, where Batman is forced to undergo a long rehabilitation process after having his back broken by the villainous Bane in an ambush.

‘The Dark Knight Rises’ Director Christopher Nolan described the opening scenes of the film as ‘breathtaking.

Special screenings of the film’s prologue are being held at select IMAX theaters across the world next week, and in the trailers before screenings of ‘Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol‘, which opens the week after.

The third installment of the Batman reboot stars Christian Bale as The Dark Knight, Tom Hardy as Bane, Ann Hathaway as CatwomanMorgan Freeman as Lucious Fox, Michael Caine as Alfred, and Joseph Gordon-Levitt as Batman Ally John Blake.

‘The Dark Knight Rises’ will premiere in theaters worldwide on July 20, 2012.
