The second trailer for Quentin Tarantino‘s ‘Django Unchained’ is out and it is clear that the movie is going to be intense.

The trailer features bursts of dark humor and savage violence. It also showcases the talented cast that includes Leonardo DiCaprio as a smarmy plantation owner and Jamie Foxx as the vengeful ex-slave, Django.

Expect a lot of bloodshed in the story of a freed slave out to rescue his wife (Kerry Washington) from bondage but it is also a tale of love.

“This is about a man who, at a time when people are only considered three-fifths of a human being, so believes in his own humanity — and the humanity of his woman — that he goes across the country and into the depths of hell to rescue her,” said Washington.

Tarantino writes the best dialogue of anyone in Hollywood and the verbal sparring between DiCaprio, Foxx and co-star Samuel L. Jackson promises to be a lot of fun.

When DiCaprio says with a smirk, “I spent my whole life surrounded by black faces, I only had one question. Why don’t they just rise up and kill the whites?” Christopher Waltz‘s bounty hunter responds, “Who knows what could happen,” you just know that DiCaprio will be eating his words.

Tarantino is the king of making audiences laugh and cringe at the same time. Case in point,  Jonah Hill appears as a Klansman who loses his hood and asks the mob if anyone brought any extra bags.

‘Django Unchained’ hits theaters on Christmas Day.
