The latest trailer for the forthcoming adaptation of Susan Hill’s chilling tale ‘The Women in Black’ has hit the web, allowing fans a glimpse of Daniel Radcliffe in his first film role post-Harry Potter.

Radcliffe plays the role of junior solicitor Arthur Kipps, who is sent to a solitary, uninhabited house to finalize the affairs of the late Alice Drablow. Isolated on the salt marshes Kipps uncovers the tragic and terrifying curse of The Woman in Black.

The trailer is void of the violence and dramatic scaremongering favored by Hollywood horrors and instead utilizes the eerie backdrop of the salt marshes and its sudden fogs to propel the audience into a state of unease.

Discussing his role, Radcliffe admitted, “To be honest if I wasn’t in it myself I would probably be too scared to see it. There are moments when people do jump out of their seats, but there are also the subtler moments when you just find a chill running up your spine and you’re not quite sure why.”

Directed by James Watkins (Eden Lake), ‘The Woman in Black’ also stars Ciaràn Hinds (‘Road to Perdition’) as Mr. Daily and award winning actress Janet McTeer (‘Tideland’) as his wife, Mrs. Daily.

‘The Woman in Black’ is due for US release February 3 and UK release February 10, 2012.
