Like all good superhero movies, ‘Captain America’ begins with a weedy, outcast whose lifelong ambitions are dependent upon an image of strength and agility. The movie begins in 1942 as “Steve Rogers” (Chris Evans), deemed unfit for military service, turns to Project Rebirth. Queue a lycra clad superhero fighting Hitler’s go-to man “Red-Skull” (Hugo Weaving), in the classic struggle between good and evil. The movie’s heroic patriot puts a futuristic spin on the World War II era setting and if the trailer is anything to go by, this seems to work well.
Captain America: The First Avenger will be released on 22 July (US), 29 July (UK).
