The newest in a long line of Hollywood remakes, Red Dawn has released its first trailer.

The new film, based off the 1984 cult hit of the same name, features Thor star Chris Hemsworth and Hunger Games lead Josh Hutcherson fighting against an invading army of North Koreans.

The original film featured Patrick Swayze, C. Thomas Howell, and Charlie Sheen in a similar setting, fighting off invading Soviets of many varieties. Considering the smaller pool of feasible threats to the U.S. in 2012, North Korea seemed to be the only logical filler for the antagonist void.

The trailer also features Tom Cruise‘s son Connor (from Nicole Kidman) in his first major role. The 17-year-old son joins the ranks of Hemsworth, Hutcherson, and former Nickelodeon star Josh Peck in the Wolverines – a guerrilla army of young Americans.

Originally, the film was slated for a much earlier release, but was pushed back several years after a number of financial discrepancies were found by film distributor MGM – hence why Hemsworth looks much younger than normal in the trailer.

Red Dawn is due to hit U.S. theaters November 21, 2012.
