HBO’s telefilm, ‘The Girl,’ will offer an inside look at eccentric director Alfred Hitchcock’s obsessive relationship with actress Tippi Hedren.

The first promo for the film features narration by Toby Jones, who plays Hitchcock, and give viewers a taste of the obsession that is promised to play out in ‘The Girl.’

Sienna Miller portrays Hedren, who was Hitchcock’s muse and starred in his films ‘The Birds’ and ‘Marnie.’ While making these films, Hedren endured a multitude of unwanted sexual advances from the English director. When she refused to work with him following the two films, he effectively blacklisted her for the two years she was still under contract with him.

Jones’ portrayal of Hitchcock is chillingly accurate, especially the way he captures the director’s raspy voice.

“I have to say that when I first heard Toby’s [Jones] voice as Alfred Hitchcock, my body just froze,” Tippi Hedren said earlier this month.

This is not Miller’s first go at playing a famous muse. She portrayed It-Girl and Andy Warhol muse Edie Sedgewick in the 2006 biopic ‘Factory Girl.’

‘The Girl,’ which is directed by Julian Jarrold, premieres in October on HBO.
