Kristen Stewart has reportedly been dropped from the sequel to Snow White and the Huntsman after her much-publicized affair with married director, Rupert Sanders.

Instead of the planned Snow White sequel, Universal has decided to go with a spinoff film that focuses solely on the Huntsman, played by Chris Helmsworth. Sources indicate Stewart has not been invited to participate at all. It is not clear whether Sanders will return to direct the Huntsman movie.

“The studio is currently exploring options to continue the franchise,” a Universal spokeswoman said.

Screenwriter David Koepp, who penned the first film, has declined to write because of the changes, sources say.

Both Stewart and Sanders issued statements through People magazine publicly apologizing for the affair. Stewart said in a statement, “I’m deeply sorry for the hurt and embarrassment I’ve caused to those close to me and everyone this has affected. This momentary indiscretion has jeopardized the most important thing in my life, the person I love and respect the most, Rob. I love him, I love him, I’m so sorry.”
